Today we took O to battersea park children’s zoo.
My mum lives in between us and the zoo so we stopped at her house to collect her and for a cup of tea and hot cross buns.
The Zoo cost £22 for the 3 of us.
O really enjoyed looking at the animals , he was very interested to read all about each one.
First we saw the monkeys.
We made a bit of a mistake there because we thought it would be nice to see feeding time , but quite a crowd gathered and O very quickly got very anxious , we moved on pretty swiftly just avoiding a huge tantrum that was In the making.
We steered clear of feeding time from then on.
Next we saw the meerkats and the otters.
And then we moved on to the mouse house.
We saw harvest mice , house mice , snakes and a bearded dragon
Some giant African snails and the chipmunks
After an ice cream break we saw Maras and the two Emus named Ant and Dec
There were two Kune Kune pigs called piggle and wiggle
And some wallabies. Which I forgot to take a photo of.
We saw a miniature Shetland pony and two lovely donkeys
Then we went to the playground
O sat on the tractor
And in the fire engine
And he really enjoyed the digging thing …
He had a couple of turns on the water blaster game , which was really fun but I think a big pricey at a pound a go
O did lots of climbing and sliding , the playground is excellent. You could easily spend a
Whole afternoon just in the playground.
Then O played in the sand pit.
O loves a sand pit and this one was brilliant. It was full of buckets and watering cans and climbing frames with pulleys and mechanical ( I think that’s what I mean ) twisty turny things to move water and water pumps and taps.
O played there for ages
We had a quick look at the rabbits and guinea pigs and then O had a hot dog from the stand just outside the zoo
We had a nice walk home along the river looking at the boats and bridges
And stopped off at mums for tea and toast ( brown , dripping with lurpak)
On the way back to ours I made a surprise sighting of something very rare ….
A purple hooded boy , with his arms out of his hoodie
Today we had a good day. A really good day.
If you find yourself in battersea park it’s well worth a visit to the zoo.
